Our new Lunch club seems to have been well received by the local community. We thank everyone that has supported this new venture and hope that you will continue to visit us for your lunch on Thursdays.

The Charity shop, Tea Dance, And Bingo evenings are still continuing to do very well. We are continually on the look out for any new volunteers to help with our functions, if you have an hour or two to spare on a Thursday we would love to hear from you. I’m sure you’d have a great time helping out. It’s also a good chance to make new friends.

Don’t forget to pop up for your lunch on a Thursday. Meals are served from 11.45am until 12.45pm. We would love to see you there.

Letter of thanks, to the Warsop community.

I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Warsop community and surrounding area for your help and support given to the Oaklands over the past months (maybe even years). I would like to give thanks to certain people, groups and local business for their fundraising support. Some of these include: ‘The Friends of the Oaklands’ fundraising team, The Inner Wheel, The Rotary club, The Co op in Warsop, Warsop Parish Church, Warsop Area Assembly, Carol Hill and her team at Warsop Web, Tania Barlow at Warsop and District News, The Tea Dance group, The Gate pub, Welbeck Miners Welfare Club, The Hare and Hounds, Debbie at Dawns Florist, Burton and Sherwood, Jon Joes, The Black Market, all the staff from the bungalows and Friths in Mansfield Woodhouse.

There are so many people who have supported the Oaklands, which I am sure are missing from the list. I apologies if you are one of them and I thank you for your continued support. Other businesses further a field have also been fundraising for The Oaklands. I would like to thank The Castlewood in South Normanton, Butterley Park in Ripley and The Bachelors factory in Worksop.

The volunteers at the Oaklands play a very important part in the running of our Charity Shop, Lunch Club and Tea Dance. I would like to thank all of these people for their continued support. There are so many people who help during the week I can’t possibly put all their names down, but you know who you are anyway.

Thank you also to any one who has donated raffle prizes, tombola prizes and donations in money to the Oaklands. I’m quite sure that if the generous people of Warsop community didn’t support the Oaklands in whichever way they do, it would not be the place it is today. We have recently opened a new Luncheon Club on a Thursday. This is open to everyone, so please do pop along for lunch.
